Oh boy... Lauryn Hill versus the IRS
Well it turns out the singer
owns four companies and apparently has lots of money rolling in from
song royalties, which means doing her taxes probably isn’t a breeze.
The IRS now says she employed the shaky accounting strategy of NOT filing at all from 2005 through 2007, reports Reuters.
Given that she earned nearly $2 million in that span, the agency has charged her with three counts of failing to file her federal returns, each of which carries a potential sentence of a year in jail and a six-figure fine.
Folks you know they will make an example out of her, celebrity status is not a get-out-of-jail-free card with the tax man.
